Facts you might not know about Anne Frank

1.  Anne is not her "real" name.   She was christened Annelies Marie (Anne for short).

2. She had an older sister called Margot Betti.

3. Anne's favourite interests were pets, film stars, Greek myths, riding her bicycle and going to a local ice-cream parlour called Oasis.

4. She was given her diary (which she called "Kitty") as a present for her thirteenth birthday. 

5. While hiding in the secret annexe, Anne had to get up at 6.45 am each morning.

6. The last entry in Anne's diary is dated Tuesday 1 August 1944.  Three days later, on the morning of Friday 4 August, Anne and the other seven people (including her sister and her parents) who were hiding in the secret annexe were arrested by German police and sent to concentration camps.
